ProForce Curved Foam Shield Practicing your forms or katas is all well and good and is part of the fundamentals of learning any martial art. The difficult part comes when you have to put all of your lessons to the test and use your skills against another person in a sparring match.

There is a step to go between beginning training and sparring: hitting a dummy or shield. The benefits of using a shield are that you can get used to the feeling of your feet, knuckles or hand actually connecting with something solid. You can start to understand the power that is behind your punches and you do not have to feel as though you need to hold back anything because the foam padding will protect the person holding it.

The Proforce Body Shield begins as a high quality, shock absorbent foam that is then covered with a blue vinyl. The whole thing is reinforced with nylon fiber stitching, creating a bag that can really stand up to the test of time. There are double arm bands and a hand grip on the back so that the trainer can keep the bag locked in the correct position.
